Crater Lake being dried up made for some new twists to pulling off a new look to the Bells. Luckily for me, after wading through mud and ice, I was able to get out into the logs that would have normally been on the bottom of the lake. And in a very still moment capture this image. Sometimes the best thing about traveling to one of the most photographed locations in the country is the challenge of finding a shot you have never seen. A few weeks ago I took a trip to Aspen Colorado to photograph the Maroon Bells. Everyone at one time or another has probably see the reflection of the Bells on Maroon Lake; this was after all the reason I took off towards Aspen. I was able to capture that shot, it is not the shot pictured below, you can view that shot by clicking here. The image below is of the Maroon Bells from an almost dried up upper lake called Crater Lake.
