A few hours went by and the sun had already come up, there was a slight breeze making it impossible to get the clarity I was after for the reflection of the Maroon Bells in front of me. Being cold and not to worried if I got that shot or not I headed up the trail to Crater Lake above Maroon Lake. Along the trails I am always on the lookout for shots that catch my interest. Once I got up on the ridge to look down on Crater Lake, and see it was dried up, I was drawn in by the bright yellows of the aspens as the morning sun light them on both sides of the clearing. I set up and captured this image with the Bells on the right side of the image. It was what I was after, a beautiful shot of the infamous Bells like I had never seen before.
